My work is inspired by my interest in contemporary human beings. However,
it is neither a photorealistic depiction nor an expression of physical beauty or
anatomical perfection. What truly captivates me is the attempt to uncover
the hidden depths of the human mind. The body, to me, is merely a shell that
encloses the mysterious emotions and thoughts within.
The arrival of COVID-19 brought sudden and sweeping changes to everyday life.
My 2020 works were created during the lockdown period, a time filled with fear
but also a longing for the gentleness and beauty of the natural world we once knew.
(At that moment, COVID-19 felt like a cruel force of nature that struck us unprepared.)
In 2022, my interest in the balance between humanity and nature evolved further. I
explored this through the use of personification—giving human emotions and
qualities to other living beings. By 2024, this balance was expressed symbolically
through the concept of weight, representing the burdens we bear in situations
that hover between heaviness and lightness.
